[Source] At BlizzCon 2018, former Blizzard Entertainment president and one of the company’s founders (known as Silicon & Synapse back then) Mike Morhaime announced he is stepping down from his role and will remain as a Strategic Advisor. This move was rumored to be fueled by the increasing influence of parent company Activision, hell-bent on cutting costs to boost its profit margin. In a recent SEC filing, it was revealed that Mike Morhaime will leave his new role in April 2019, just 5-6 months after stepping down as president. It is speculated that he will be cutting off all ties with Blizzard with this move.
